P3Dv4.3 Beta Issues

Post by Erik » Sat Nov 24, 2018 7:29 am

Hello XHT team,

Thanks for releasing the P3Dv4 update for Prague. Yesterday I succesfully installed it. However when I started the airport, I noticed missing jetways, ground overlay textures etc. If I am remembering correct it has something to do with APC.

I decided to uninstall and manually remove all leftover files. Today I wanted to install, but the installer crashes to desktop when I click 'next' immediately. Any clues?

Hi Erik,

sorry for replying late. I was attending the IVAO-CZ Open Skies 2018 as a staff member, so I wasn't even able to read the post. Try this:

1) Delete the install entry in the Programs and Features via CCleaner or something like that (not uninstall, but delete)

2) Delete AirportController and Mega Airport Prague from Prepar3D v4 Add-ons

3) Delete C:\XHT-Labs folder

Now try the installer.

If that will still not work, also delete following registry entries:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\XHT

and / or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\XHT

Also if you will be successful installing it, and the ground poly will not show up, don't do anything, and please send a support ticket with all the required files.

Many thanks!

Thanks Jan, I know support was limited, so very happy I got a reply :)

I followed/checked the instructions and could not find a trace of any leftovers. Everytime when I start the installer (I attached a pic) clicking next kills the installer. I have tried to set various compatibility settings, disabling antivirus, reboots, but no result. Strange thing that is was working the first time?!

I am using Windows 10 x64 (Dutch)

That's really weird. We have never encountered this in the Beta test.

I'll let our developer know, and we will take a look at it.

Hi Erik

Many thanks for such a complete info! Highly appreciated ;)

Could you check whether you've got a 'Prepar3D v4' subfolder in the '%localappdata%\Lockheed Martin\', please?
(see attached screenshot)

And if yes - what is the content (screenshot please).

Hi Erik

Just realized it could help if you use my SimDiagnostic tool.
It is not yet finished and may crash quite often, but there is a big chance it will work.
And, first of all - it does not change your configuration, just read it.

Once you run it, select P3D v4 and if it works, just make a screenshot - this will help us.

Cheers,
Premek

A small update on this one… I managed to install it suddenly?! Do not have a clue what has happened. Today Prepar3Dv4.4 will release, so I will test it out in the coming days. Thanks for all the good help!
